i was running around hoping to find somebody like the one

Still listening to 'skin and bones'-charlene kaye, and in the car, riding to 'inside out'-katie costello.

i have a feeling any time real soon the electricity is going to go b/c of all this dunder. but it's okay! cause i have a MAC now and my battery even after watching a movie is at 1:07. : D i wish i could share this song on this post but i can't. at least not until i receive the cd. i'm supposed to get that and the silent years' new ep.
i got a call yesterday from a guy from sidecho records that the silent years is a part of now and apparently they made the shipping cost to high so instead of repaying us, customers, we're getting a free __. i got a free the pale pacific ep. they're okay didn't relaly listen to much, but i can dig the ep i think. i just really want this charlene kaye cd to come in so i can put 'skin and bones' on my ipod and i won't have to stay up an extra 2 hours at my lappy instead of staying in my comfy bed. well.. i could bring my lappy to bed, but i have nowhere to put it after i want to sleep seeing that i have no shelf space from all the crap +cd/dvds/books around. oops. haha

saw harry potter with michelle and joshua today. didn't expect it to be the greatest since i haven't been impressed with the potter (haha i first typed pooter) movie series ever since the 3rd film (prisoner of azkaban) (wow i'm listening with my noise-cancelling headphones and i can still hear the raindrops above my head from the thin, one pane skylight window) anywho, it was still nice to see though. it wasn't bad, but nothing on my favourites list. too much concentration on social stuff like teenage love and stuff. definitely needs more action. where is all the kick ass details that j.k. rowling put in her novel? i mean the death eaters went into hogwarts, snarled and smirked and blew up the great hall and hagrid's hut? okay? yeah? no terrorizing the teachers or people or anything?
michelle brought up a good point afterwards too; where the eff was voldemort? we saw little tom riddle and teenaged tom riddle, but where was voldemort? was ralph fiennes too busy to do a few scenes as voldemort? (not to sound mean, but actually asking) i'd like to know. but i did cry when dumbledore died, they didn't over do that one, thankfully. I cried when i read it and i definitely cried here. i'm glad they put that he was in the frame of the headmaster's office though, cause i remember in the book i was like why can't harry just go talk to him there. but yeah. would i see the movie again in theater? no. i'm much more excited for the special features/interviews on dvd honestly. hahah but i'm hoping the next book will be better in theater since its split into two parts, thus hopefully putting more good details and ACTION.

anywho, i finally got, after two months of waiting, pride and prejudice and zombies. i think i'm going to like it, but i only read a few pages. i'll write about it in the next maybe. if i remember.

my dog can jump pretty damn high. this is my favourite picture of her:

***just wanted to point out that i know that they can't cover all the details from the book, but i feel like they could have done better. but it was still good cause harry potter can't really go wrong : D haha

So I recently went to a place called Italy.

& Paris, but mostly Italy.

i didn't exactly plan to take amazing photos there (except it's hard not to take a good photo when everything there is amazing and photogenic) but i did find some good-ers among my snaps.

classic eiffel not SOOO classic picture of it. but still can be seen by many phototakers. i still love it though.

i was thinking about how much i don't use this, and how much i would probably use it if it were more of a personal blog than just photos. maybe i'll do a switcharoo and actually use it as a personal blog while also posting up pictures when i can/have the will to do so. but right now i just want to talk about this song i just found that is amazing.

so watching 'A Very Potter Musical' i found the guy playing harry potter to be super cute and i liked his voice a lot and his skills on guitar made me mush a little. So i googled him (obvious turn of events) and found his name to be darren criss. found his myspace, hardly listened to one song, and then i saw on his youtube vids a music video with this asian girl who keeps coming up and so i was curious to find out if they're dating so i can be uber jealous of her and then get over it within half a day. cause that's how i roll.
anywho, so her name's charlene kaye and after watching this one music video of the song 'Skin and Bones', i sincerely started to dig her. I don't so much like 'magnolia wine' but i think i may like 'strike a chord'. so impulsively, or not so impulsively, more like 'justina-impulsively', i bought her cd b/c a.) i wanted 'skin & bones' but i didn't want to just buy her one song if i ended up liking her shit and then having to buy the whole album and then having the feeling of stupidity for spending $1+cents for a song i was getting on the buying of the whole album.
so i bought the whole damn cd.
in hopes that i will like all her songs.
but i really dig that one song, 'skin and bones'. it's just so..good. totally me atm. i guess i really do like soft sounds. but i can dig hard sounds. i don't know. maybe it's just my mood now. cause i just recently was digging katie costello. good sounds.

oh so i just re-read 'the perks of being a wallflower' and i realized i totally missed a big important point when i read it the first time. i'm not going to mention it cause i'm still embarrassed for missing it the first time, but damn. anywho, i'm going to re-read 'half-blood prince' maybe tonight or tomorrow cause i want it to be fresh in the head before i see the movie. can't wait, it's my favourite hp book.

so yeah.. i should probably post another picture, but having to search through thumbnails is a bitch and i could iphoto it, but i'm too lazy cause it's 1:08 am.

dude shutters are effing awesome.

this picture's not all that special, but the comment joanne made was insane in the membrane.

'hold on. let me consult my pidgeon.'

this was the zoomed out version. i took a zoomer version, and a zoomest version. i loved the lighting and the somewhat sillohette. did i spell that correctly? firefox's little red underline misspeller thing didn't pop up , but it looks so wrong. i'ma google it. missing a 'u'. sillouhette. there.

yeah. i have a bunch o' photos from europe, and when i'm finally not lazy, i'll post them on picasa for family and if anyone's interested who somehow plopped on this small, petite blog, they can look too.

ciao for now.

wow.

fail.

So as i predicted but hoped it wouldn't come true, I failed epically in doing the weekly photos. i could even do bi-weekly. but at least i have some photos to share that I liked that i've taken since the last post.
Ra Ra Riot concert @ Webster Hall, 04.04.09

the lighting @ this show was so nice. especially since it wasn't red, where i can't get one picture focused when the lighting is red. why is that? anyway this photo has a trippy feel b/c of of the lack of clarity and i don't know how i did it, besides that my shutter speed must have been slow.

i don't LOVE this photo, but i think it's pretty nice as a thumbnail. when you see it closer though, her face isn't very focused, and I wish it were more. but yeah, this photo definitely emphasizes the lovely lighting.

yeah so i really wanted this shot, b/c of his hand going up towards the ceiling and my perspective, being below the stage, would have gave his reach more emphasis, but as being below the and not sticking my arm out high enough, I got someone's head. it's quite difficult to maneuver yourself into a position in the audience of a show when you're not 6ft+, dont want to be the obnoxious person who is constantly having their arm up in some other person's/people's face(s) and want to enjoy the show at the same time. haha

yeah another photo that i would have really liked if not for the person's head in it. the would-be's.

this one is another.

Birds fighting on my deck.

it looks like they're kissing or something, but they were being vicious. I didn't know if it was playing or for real, but after one of the birds seem to really be pinning the other down, I knocked on the sliding door window pane and they just flew off togeher. haha

NJ Key Club District Convention '09:

i kept help but like this one, EXCEPT the stupid sunspot on his face. if he was moved just a little to the left, it would be great.

this one isn't GREAT, but it's somewhat memorable.

& that's it. i've been trying to use my father's film camera. went to a nearby pond/park to take some photos. hopefully my next project that I can post is a 180 panoramic (inspiration courtesy of michtseng).

Weeks 02.15.09-02.21.09, 02.22.09-02.28.09

oops forgot to update last week.

Natural Lighting always seems makes pictures look better. For example, I could take many ugly, i mean interesting, photos of the subject, Joanne, and it would still look pretty good. Except I kinda wish I didn't get her forehead in the sunlight while the rest of her is not the same tone. Doesn't seem to work with it.

This last one I like very much, well at least the left side. I think it's one of those beauty capturing moments. Amelia looks breath-taking, literally as well as figuratively speaking. I feel like it should be on the cover of a The Like song or something. I tried cropping it, but the length changes the photo and it doesn't feel the same. I do wish she was a little bit more in focus, like the top of her hair, though. Perhaps if Joanne looked left? (viewer's left, not her left)

Next I went to the last PHS swim meet of 2009. Didn't really figure out how to take too good of photos with the yellow lighting and the far-away ness.

Nothing on actual swimming that I actually like, but this one's pretty fun with all the expressions. It's dark, and not clear clear, but still, expressions.

There was a blackout recently at my house and had fun with playing with the zoom and the candle light. Nothing extremely special, but i wonder how to take a photo like this with a little more focus?

I played around with aperture last week and this is one using my lowest F stop number:

I tried to get only the background of the swirls but i couldn't get it to work. Next I tried to take a picture with a large F-stop with the same zoom in-ness, but the photo wasn't focused enough.

2.17.2009

Week I- 02.08.09-02.14.09

I have started this photo blog b/c i read in an article given to me by my sister that I should record my photo efforts in a blog and possibly get some criticism so that I can get better, hopefully.

So these are from last week:

The first two are from my high school's Dating Olympics. I thought they showed the contrast of males vs. females in their relationships to each other. They didn't come out that well and I was wondering if anyone could help me with taking photos from under the stage w/ lighting like this.

The 3rd photo is from my friend's birthday celebration. Even though her face is unfocused and dark, I still like this photo. The way the light reflects off her tiara and her dress, and her face is genuine, and the background is somewhat out of focus like I wanted.
