Weeks 02.15.09-02.21.09, 02.22.09-02.28.09

oops forgot to update last week.

Natural Lighting always seems makes pictures look better. For example, I could take many ugly, i mean interesting, photos of the subject, Joanne, and it would still look pretty good. Except I kinda wish I didn't get her forehead in the sunlight while the rest of her is not the same tone. Doesn't seem to work with it.

This last one I like very much, well at least the left side. I think it's one of those beauty capturing moments. Amelia looks breath-taking, literally as well as figuratively speaking. I feel like it should be on the cover of a The Like song or something. I tried cropping it, but the length changes the photo and it doesn't feel the same. I do wish she was a little bit more in focus, like the top of her hair, though. Perhaps if Joanne looked left? (viewer's left, not her left)

Next I went to the last PHS swim meet of 2009. Didn't really figure out how to take too good of photos with the yellow lighting and the far-away ness.

Nothing on actual swimming that I actually like, but this one's pretty fun with all the expressions. It's dark, and not clear clear, but still, expressions.

There was a blackout recently at my house and had fun with playing with the zoom and the candle light. Nothing extremely special, but i wonder how to take a photo like this with a little more focus?

I played around with aperture last week and this is one using my lowest F stop number:

I tried to get only the background of the swirls but i couldn't get it to work. Next I tried to take a picture with a large F-stop with the same zoom in-ness, but the photo wasn't focused enough.
