Jean-Baptiste Mondino

so i recently went to a free screening of Cary Fukunaga's Jane Eyre at the Museum of Fine Arts (in Boston). at first i was like that was all right, wasn't too special from what this period pieces are usually and that's probably still true but the day afterwards, i was like damn i wanna watch it again. i don't know what it is about these stories where it seems like they don't even like each other and then all of a sudden they declare their love and it's like a surge of love energy that you are like where the hell did that come from? and then omgosh crazy good. haha

there was a q & a session afterwards w/ mia wasikowska (girl from alice in wonderland, the kids are all right) and cary fukunaga. fukunaga was pretty funny and wasikowska was quiet but she didn't get a whole lot of questions. my friend had work to do so we left early unfortunately but it's okay.

^taken by my cellular.

it was cool anywho, what this post is leading to is that Mia and the guy who plays Mr. Rochester, Michael Fassbender (German guy in Inglourious Basterds), recently had a photoshoot of them published in W magazine. they're really good looking together or else the story has manipulated my mind to think that haha which is most likely true.

she's really pretty here:

this is my favourite:

so i looked up the photographer: Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
googled his site and found out he's a french fashion photographer and music video director. he made the really hot commercial w/ Charlize Theron

he seems to have a few where there's a lot of ppl and males/females are all similar looking as one gender. it's pretty interesting.

this was one of my more favourite fashion photos:

this one's a good one but i mostly like it b/c of the bowtie. haha

this is my favourite from his site:

TiMER

So i watched this movie on netflix a way while back called TiMER

i think i actually kinda like it. i mean there's kind of a hollywood rush to it at the end to resolve everything, but still, the idea's really interesting and it's not badly acted.

here's the summary from netflix haha:

In this comedic fantasy, science has facilitated the search for a soul mate via biotechnological implants that count down to the moment one is supposed to meet his or her match. But Oona (Emma Caulfield) is worried: She's nearly 30, and her TiMER isn't ticking yet. Will her dream guy get snatched up by someone else? John Patrick Amedori co-stars in this film from first-time writer and director Jac Schaeffer.

so it's not really that good of a summary, but i'm too lazy/haven't watched it for a while now and can't remember all the details. but i want to watch it again. it has john patrick amedori in it too so that might be part of the reason i like it haha. he's just a good actor. and cute. : ]

Huff Post

So I came back to my room like.. 20 minutes ago and found e-mails from FB from my photo editor posting up a link on my wall. So I click thinking it's some assignment or whatever, and it's the photo I took on somewhat of a whim yesterday for the freep and it's a link to a huffington post re-post of the freep article w/ my photo enlarged, re-cropped (again) and really bad quality. sigh. my initial reaction was a mix of HOLY SH** & HOLY SH** THAT'S A HORRIBLE PHOTO. i'm calming down now, but yeah. unknowingly, i am published in a non-school-related thing. : D

here's the link for the huffpost one and here's the original at the freep

& here's the original photo

Weird.

I know we're at the point in time where social networking sites have pretty much taken over most ppl's lives. (okay a littttleee of an exaggeration but not totally) but it still surprises me and makes me laugh when i read things like this:

“We basically decided on principle that we couldn’t work for a country that was using snipers on rooftops to pick off its citizens,” said Gregory L. Vistica, the firm’s president, who first announced the decision on Facebook.

^in an article in the NY Times about lobbyists in the US gov for Arab countries. (here it is in case you wanna read it)

so serious and then "announced the decision on FACEBOOK." weeirrdd..
