Mary and Max

So my great friend at BU, Tesla, told me to watch this movie called 'Mary and Max' last night. At the time, I was in a pissy mood and knew i shouldn't start watching a movie at 12:00 midnight since i was supposed to wake up round 6:00am the next morning. or the same morning. tomatoes, tomahtoes.

i did it anyway.

i didn't finish it til now, but let me just say, this song: 'Perpetuum Mobile' by Penguin Cafe Orchestra that opened w/ the film totally filled my insides w/ happiness and joy. It still is. All I want to do is download this song and play it in my car. it's so happiness.

the film is also really good. it's described as a dark-comedy clayographics film. it's by a man named Adam Elliot who has the same birth date as me and is from australia! a place i wish to study abroad in next spring. he has another film, a short one, called 'Harvie Krumpet' and it's also streaming on Netflix so i will watch it some time. he seems to focus (at least on these two) on ppl with mental 'disabilities.' i'm not sure what to call them. should research that.

anywho 'Mary and Max' (i keep saying max and ruby from the book i had to read in jumpstart haha) is a sweet film that brings you out into idealistic situations yet keeps it grounded to seem like it could really happen. i believe i learned a term for this in philosophy & film but i can't recall it at the moment.

i hope you who are reading this, watch this film sometime. it's worth it.

starting my internship tomorrow. a bit nervous and bit excited. mostly just happy i found an internship and pretty happy w/ this one. starting my productive summer officially. hope to find a part-time job soon to pay for a few concerts i would like to go to in the near future + summer endeavors + fall semester.

listen to the song!
